Fly Rods

If you use or want to learn a fly fishing style, you will need special equipment. First and foremost is a rod. In popularity in the United States, it is much inferior to spinning/baitcasting models. According to statistics, rods for fly fishing account for 6-10% of sales. However, at the same time, you will find an active community that recommends this particular type of equipment. After all, the main thing in such angling is aesthetics and the fishing process itself.

    Fly Fishing Rods: Precision and the highest level of fishing skill

    When angling for specific fish baits and lures such as artificial flies, fly rods are the right choice for you. They are longer than other models (from 7 to 12 feet), more flexible & lightweight (from 3 ounces and up). At the same time, they are often quite strong, as they are made of graphite/fiberglass. The former are more sensitive and the latter have greater flexibility & strength. As a result, you will be able to make accurate casts and instantly feel the strike of the fish. Combined with the Fly Fishing Reels and right line, you will also get the perfect level of balance as well.

      Benefits of our Rods for Fly Fishing

      Learning to use such fishing rods is not so easy, as they are designed for a special, different technique. But you will get a lot of advantages:

      • Maximum level of control. These models are highly sensitive. You can easily adjust your actions based on external conditions and fish behavior. There is also a higher chance of hooking a cautious prey;
      • High accuracy of casting. This makes it possible and convenient to catch in hard-to-reach locations;
      • Long throwing capability. Some models reach 12 feet in length while giving the right level of stiffness;
      • These rods perform well when catching prey in strong currents. You can hunt, for example, in mountain rivers for trout or grayling.

      Important information

      Fly rods are not a universal type, they are designed for a specific technique. They cannot be used, for example, for trolling or jigging. They do not have enough power for this and will not be able to handle the loads. Baitcasting or Spinning Rods are more suitable for these angling styles.

      Also, because of the length, such models are not very convenient to transport. If you are going camping, it is better to take Travel Fishing Rods. They also have a larger selection of available styles (jigging/spinning and others).
